Recently, a detailed walkaround video of the base 40 kWh battery pack-equipped variant of this SUV has been shared online. This video of the Tata Punch.ev Smart Plus variant has come courtesy of Amar Drayan on their channel. It starts off with the vlogger mentioning that this particular variant is the most affordable variant in the lineup which offers the 40 kWh battery pack. It is called the Smart Plus variant, and it starts at Rs 10.89 lakh.

Presently, Tata Motors is not offering this particular variant with the Battery as a Service (BaaS) program. The base variant of the Punch.ev, which gets the 30 kWh battery pack, starts at Rs 9.69 lakh with the battery included and Rs 6.49 lakh with BaaS (ex-showroom prices).
The 30 kWh battery pack offers a range of 365 km, and the 40 kWh battery pack option offers 455 km on a single full charge. It also offers DC fast charging capabilities at 65 kW. The vehicle can be charged to drive 135 km in just 15 minutes. As for the power figures, this particular base 40 kWh variant comes equipped with an electric motor which makes 129 bhp and 154 Nm of torque.
Meanwhile, the 30 kWh battery pack also gets the same electric motor but offers lower power of 88 bhp and 154 Nm of torque. It also offers three drive modes, including City, Eco, and Sport, along with multiple regenerative braking modes.

Next up, the vlogger then starts showing the exterior design of the Smart Plus 40 kWh trim. He highlights that, at the front, this SUV now does not get the connected LED DRL. Instead, it now gets smaller DRLs. After this, he shows the same LED headlight setup as before and mentions that it does not come equipped with fog lights. Apart from these, the front bumper is new, and the top part is covered by a charging cover on which the Tata logo is placed.
The vlogger then moves to the side profile of this SUV. He states that the base 40 kWh does not come offered with a set of alloy wheels. Instead, it gets black 16-inch steel wheels with black wheel covers. Also, it comes equipped with black door handles and black ORVMs. This time around, Tata Motors has painted the claddings of the new Punch.ev in a light grey color.

During the walkaround, the presenter highlights that this particular Pure Grey color looks very sporty yet elegant. Moving ahead, he then shows the rear end of the SUV, which comes with a new set of taillights and a new rear bumper. While at the rear, he also highlights that Tata Motors is offering a lifetime 15-year warranty on the battery pack of the new Punch.ev.

After showing the exterior of the Punch.ev Smart Plus, the vlogger then moves to the interior. He highlights that this SUV gets a generous amount of hard plastics, but the dual-tone color makes it look premium. In terms of features, it gets a new 8-inch freestanding touchscreen infotainment system, which gets the same UI as other Tata models. It also comes equipped with a small digital instrument gauge cluster, automatic climate control, a rotary knob for drive mode selection, manually adjustable ORVMs, and all four power windows.
