
Tesla officially launched its six-seater electric SUV, the Model Y L, in the Indian market recently. After the official launch, the brand started accepting bookings. Tesla India has now started deliveries of the newly launched Model Y L EV. The first batch of vehicles was delivered to customers through Tesla's direct-to-consumer business model, which prioritizes customer satisfaction, ensures a consistent ownership experience, and enables seamless direct deliveries across India.

Tesla launched the all-new Model Y L in India in April this year. The Model Y L is priced at Rs 61.99 lakh, ex-showroom. Tesla has also shared images of the customers who took delivery of the first batch of this six-seater EV.
Tesla is also offering attractive finance options for customers. Interested customers can actually buy a Model Y L by making a down payment as low as Rs 6.5 lakh, and monthly payments start at around Rs 49,990.
The Model Y L is actually the long-wheelbase, three-row variant of the Model Y EV, which Tesla already had on sale in India. Apart from the six-seater layout, the Y L is also the first Tesla in the market to get a dual-motor or AWD setup.

The Model Y L is 4,969 mm long, 1,982 mm wide, and 1,668 mm tall. At 3,040 mm, the wheelbase of the Model Y L has also gone up by 150 mm. It also offers 2 mm more ground clearance, and the height of the SUV has gone up by 44 mm.
The Model Y L comes with an exterior design similar to the regular version. Tesla is currently offering the Y L in only the Stealth Grey shade as standard. Other colours like Pearl White, Diamond Black, Glacier Blue, Ultra Red, and Cosmic Silver are chargeable.
The Tesla Model Y L comes with the same minimalist dashboard and a large 16-inch central touchscreen, which has controls for most features. Apart from the improved speaker system, Tesla is also offering electric adjustments for the second-row captain seats, seat ventilation, heating, and even an electric armrest. The third-row seats also get powered recline, one-touch folding, dedicated AC vents, and more.

It continues to offer powered, heated, and ventilated driver and front-passenger seats, ambient lighting, automatic climate control, eight exterior cameras, a panoramic glass roof, connected features and streaming services, a heated steering wheel and windshield, a dashcam, and more. The SUV also gets 9 airbags, automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning, blind-spot collision warning, and lane-departure avoidance.
The Model Y L comes with an AWD setup and generates around 514 bhp and 590 Nm of peak torque. It has a claimed driving range of 681 km. The SUV can do 0–100 kmph in just 5.0 seconds. Tesla also claims that the Model Y L can add up to 288 km of range in 15 minutes of fast charging using its Supercharger network.

Tesla also recently launched the 2026 Model Y Premium Rear-Wheel Drive in India, a new variant of the Model Y priced at Rs 50.89 lakh, ex-showroom. Deliveries for the Model Y Premium RWD will begin in July.
