The 7-seater SUV segment is slowly growing, and it’s not just Indian brands that are offering products in this space. Some of these are expensive, while others cater to the mass-market segment. Even European brands like Skoda and Volkswagen have started offering flagship SUVs in 7-seater configurations. Here, we have a list of three new 7-seater SUVs from Skoda and Volkswagen that will be launched in the market soon.

Volkswagen launched the Tayron R-Line in the market at Rs 46.99 lakh, ex-showroom. This is the top-spec, performance-oriented version of the 7-seater SUV. As per reports circulating online, Volkswagen is also planning to launch a new lower-spec variant of the Tayron in the market.
This non R-Line variant will get a less sporty-looking grille and bumper, and it is possible that this version will offer fewer features than the current version. It is expected to be powered by the same 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine but will produce lower power and torque compared to the R-Line variant.
The current flagship from Skoda in the Indian market is the Kodiaq. It is an extremely spacious and comfortable SUV in its segment. The Kodiaq is currently available with a petrol engine only. However, Skoda recently mentioned that they are planning to reintroduce diesel engines in limited numbers in the Superb and Kodiaq.

It would be offered with all the premium features available in the petrol version and maybe even more. We say it might offer more features because Skoda is planning to bring this SUV to the Indian market as a CBU. This means the Skoda Kodiaq diesel variant is going to be expensive. However, Skoda might also skip a few features to keep the price in check. As mentioned above, the SUV will be offered in limited numbers only. It is expected to use a 2.0-litre TDI engine producing around 198 hp and 400 Nm of torque. The engine will be mated to an automatic transmission, and power will be sent to all four wheels.

The Skoda Kodiaq will also get a performance-oriented version in the market. Just like the Octavia RS, the Kodiaq RS will come with an RS-specific bumper, a blacked-out grille, a lowered stance, sportier exterior elements, and blacked-out or leather-plus-suede interiors with red inserts. It would continue to offer all premium features like a 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital driver display, a panoramic sunroof, three-zone automatic climate control, multi-colour ambient lighting, powered front-row seats with ventilation, heating and massage functions, a premium audio system, and more.
Although the engine used in the RS variant is the same as the standard version, it will be tuned differently. The Skoda Kodiaq RS will use a 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine that generates 263 PS and 400 Nm of torque. It will be mated to a 7-speed DSG transmission, with power sent to all four wheels.
