Maruti Suzuki has been the top-selling carmaker in India for multiple decades now, and to make sure that it does not lose its crown, it is currently working on the development of a number of new products. Of these, three will be launched this year. Now, if you are someone who wants to know which new Maruti Suzuki cars will be launched this year, you have come to the right spot.

The first and most important upcoming launch from Maruti Suzuki will be the new Brezza facelift. Currently, the Brezza is one of the highest-selling sub-compact SUVs in the country. However, over the last few years, rivals like the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, and Mahindra XUV 3XO have become a lot more premium and have started offering a ton of new features. So, in order to make sure that the Brezza sales do not dip, Maruti Suzuki is gearing up for the launch of a major update for this SUV.
Recently, a few different test mules of the Brezza facelift have been spotted testing on public roads. It has been reported that the SUV will be getting a redesigned front fascia with a new grille, updated LED headlights, and a revised front bumper. At the rear, the SUV is expected to get a set of refreshed LED taillights and a new bumper design. Like all facelifts, we can also expect a set of new alloy wheels as well.
On the inside, the Brezza will be getting some major updates as well. One of the biggest highlights will be the addition of a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which will replace the current 9-inch unit. This system will also be getting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and we can also expect a new instrument cluster with a larger digital display.
Some reports have highlighted that it could get front ventilated seats and a panoramic sunroof. However, at the moment, these have not been confirmed. As for the powertrain options, the current 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine will remain the same. It will also continue to get the manual and automatic gearbox options.
Now, it has been reported that the company could also launch the Brezza with a new 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine option. It will be the same engine as seen on the Fronx. Also, a 6-speed manual transmission option is expected. The factory-fitted CNG version will also remain on sale.
However, this time around, the CNG version may get an underbody-mounted tank. This will help in improving the usable boot space. Once launched, the updated Brezza will continue to rival the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV 3XO, and Skoda Kylaq, along with others.

Recently, it has been reported that the company will also be giving a major update to the popular tall-boy hatchback, the WagonR. The new model is expected to continue using the same Heartect platform, which currently underpins many other Maruti Suzuki models. This also means that it will continue to offer the same mechanicals.
The big changes on the new WagonR will be on the outside. It is expected to offer a set of revised headlamps, updated bumpers, and a refreshed grille design. Apart from these, we can also expect it to get a new infotainment system and improved cabin quality. Maruti Suzuki could also add more features to make the WagonR feel more premium than the current model.
Currently, the WagonR is offered with two naturally aspirated petrol engine options. These include a 1.0-litre and a 1.2-litre petrol motor. However, there are reports that the company could replace the existing 1.2-litre engine with the newer Z-Series 1.2-litre petrol engine from the latest-generation Swift and Dzire. Once launched, the new model will rival the Tata Tiago, Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, and Citroen C3.

Currently, Maruti Suzuki does not have any flagship 7-seater SUV in its lineup. However, this will change later this year as the company is gearing up for the launch of the new 7-seater SUV based on the Grand Vitara. Internally, it has been codenamed the Y17, and last year, a few test mules of this SUV were spotted on public roads.
The new 7-seater version of the Grand Vitara will compete in the premium 3-row SUV segment. It will take on rivals such as the Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV700, and MG Hector Plus.
This SUV will feature a longer wheelbase to accommodate the third row of seats, and it will also feature a stretched rear overhang. It is also expected to get a more upright rear design to improve third-row headroom.
In terms of styling, the SUV will most likely look similar to the Grand Vitara but will get a few major design changes to help in differentiating the two models. As for features, the SUV is expected to come loaded. It will most likely continue to offer a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, a fully digital instrument cluster, a wireless charger, a 360-degree camera, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and a heads-up display.
The SUV is also expected to come equipped with a full suite of LEVEL 2 ADAS features along with six airbags. Powertrain options will remain the same. This means it will continue to get the same 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, which makes 104 bhp, and the strong hybrid powertrain, which produces around 116 bhp. Both manual and automatic gearbox options will remain the same.
