Demand for cars, especially SUVs, is on the rise in India and around the world. Almost every brand present in India has at least one product in the SUV category. Some of these are urban SUVs or crossovers, while others stay true to the SUV badge. Here we have a list of the top 10 best-selling SUVs in India.

The best-selling SUV in India in February 2026 is the Tata Nexon. The premium look, aggressive pricing, along with features and sturdy build quality, are some of the reasons behind its success. It is also among the few SUVs sold in India that are available in petrol, diesel, CNG, and EV forms. In February, Tata sold 19,430 units of the Nexon in total.

The Tata Punch just received a facelift earlier this year. The fresh look of the micro SUV has attracted a lot of customers. The aggressive pricing and the new addition of a turbo petrol engine option also helped. The Punch facelift is now available with 1.2-litre NA petrol, 1.2-litre turbo petrol, CNG, and EV options. The Punch EV also received an update last month. In total, Tata sold 18,748 units of the Punch in India in February.

The king of the mid-size SUV segment for over a decade, the Hyundai Creta, is now due for a generation change. Although competition is growing, none of the rivals have been able to challenge Creta’s position in the market. The numbers for the month of February are proof of the same. It is available with a variety of petrol and diesel engine and transmission options. In February, Hyundai sold 17,938 units of the Creta in the market.

Maruti is working on a facelift for the Brezza this year, but that has not stopped people from buying this sub-4-metre SUV. The SUV is available with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission. A CNG option is also available for those who want an alternative fuel option. In February, Maruti sold 17,863 units of the Brezza in India.

The Scorpio name is extremely popular among SUV enthusiasts, and it won’t be wrong to say that the Scorpio has a cult following among buyers. That is one of the reasons why, even after launching the Scorpio N, Mahindra continues to sell the Scorpio Classic alongside it.
There is strong demand for both SUVs in urban and rural markets. In February, Mahindra sold a total of 14,665 units of the Scorpio Classic and Scorpio N combined.

The SUV that turned out to be an unexpected hit from Maruti Suzuki is the Fronx. Based on the same platform as the Baleno, the Fronx grabbed buyers’ attention with its SUV-like looks. It is also the only SUV in Maruti’s lineup to come with a turbo petrol engine option in the higher variants. Last month, Maruti sold 13,898 units of the Fronx in India.

Maruti launched the Victoris, which is a version of the Grand Vitara sold through Arena dealerships. Surprisingly, the Victoris is more affordable than the Grand Vitara and even offers more features like Level 2 ADAS. This is probably what pushed it up the sales chart in February. Maruti sold 13,021 units of this mid-size SUV in February this year.

This is one of the most popular lifestyle SUVs on sale in the Indian market. Mahindra sells the Thar in both 3-door and 5-door versions. It was once the most affordable 4x4 SUV one could buy in India. Even in February 2026, the popularity of the Mahindra Thar has not come down. Last month, Mahindra sold a total of 11,047 units of the Thar in the market.

The Hyundai Venue also received a generation change last year, and it is probably one of the most technologically loaded SUVs in its segment. It is available with a variety of petrol and diesel engine options with manual and automatic transmissions. In February, Hyundai sold 10,494 units of the Venue in the market.

The Kia Seltos also received a generation update this year, and it looks like people are still getting used to the new design of the SUV. That is probably the reason why the Hyundai Creta, with its older design, is still doing better than the new-generation Seltos. In February, Kia sold 10,308 units of the Seltos in the market.
