Toyota Kirloskar Motor has launched a month-long promotional campaign for the Urban Cruiser Hyryder across North India, running from February 16 until the end of March 2026. The company is offering consumer benefits of up to Rs 1 lakh, along with exchange offers and flexible finance schemes including a Buy Now, Pay Later option.

The initiative is a direct push to bring more customers behind the wheel of their strong hybrid SUV, using a mix of hands-on test drive experiences and consumer benefits to drive footfall and retail sales. The campaign covers major markets across NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, and Jammu and Kashmir.
The campaign comes at a time when the Hyryder has achieved significant sales momentum. The SUV recently crossed the two-lakh unit sales milestone in the domestic market, doing so in just 40 months since its September 2022 launch.
What stands out is how quickly sales have accelerated recently. The first 50,000 units took 15 months to sell, but the last one lakh units were sold in just 15 months. Calendar year 2025 alone saw 85,710 units sold, a 36 percent jump over the 62,956 units sold in 2024. This growth has made the Hyryder one of Toyota's fastest-growing models and it now ranks 15th among the top 30 utility vehicles sold in the country.

The Hyryder's biggest differentiator remains its self-charging strong hybrid electric system. Unlike mild hybrids, this setup allows the vehicle to run up to 40 percent of the distance and 60 percent of the time purely on electric power with the engine completely shut off.
The result is a certified fuel efficiency of 27.97 kmpl, which is class-leading in the B-SUV segment. Buyers do not need to plug the vehicle in or hunt for charging stations. The system charges itself during braking and coasting, making it a practical choice for daily commuting where fuel costs can quickly add up.
Beyond the hybrid, the Hyryder also offers a 1.5-litre K-series engine with integrated starter generator technology and even a CNG powertrain option with certified efficiency of 26.1 km per kg. The availability of both two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations further broadens its appeal.
Design-wise, the Hyryder features a crystal acrylic grille, twin LED daytime running lights, 17-inch alloys, ventilated leather seats, a panoramic sunroof, and a nine-inch touchscreen with 55 connected features. Safety comes standard with six airbags, vehicle stability control, hill hold control, all-wheel disc brakes, and a 360-degree camera.

Toyota is clearly leveraging its reputation for reliability and after-sales confidence. The Hyryder comes with a standard three-year or one lakh kilometre warranty, extendable to five years or 2.2 lakh kilometres. The hybrid battery gets an industry-leading eight-year or 1.6 lakh kilometre warranty. On top of this, customers get five years of roadside assistance.
These offers, combined with the ongoing test drive campaign, are designed to convert fence-sitters who may be curious about hybrid technology but hesitant to commit without experiencing it firsthand. With prices starting at Rs 10.94 lakh ex-showroom, the Hyryder sits in a competitive price band, but Toyota is betting that the hybrid's fuel savings and low maintenance will win over buyers in the long run.
