Volkswagen India is following in the footsteps of the Czech carmaker Skoda and is gearing up for the launch of its Taigun facelift in India. Recently, a new test mule of this SUV was spotted testing on public roads. What makes this recent sighting even more interesting is that this time around, the Taigun facelift was spotted with almost no camouflage.
The video showing the Volkswagen Taigun facelift has come courtesy of 91 Wheels. In this short clip, we can note that a white-colored Volkswagen Taigun facelift was being test-driven on a highway during the night. We can note that the only part that was covered with camouflage at the rear was its connecting LED light in the middle.
Apart from it, the rest of the rear end was fully undisguised. Eagle-eyed viewers will be able to note that this time around as well, the Taigun gets a connecting LED taillight. However, the overall design is now different. Most likely, it will also be getting an illuminated Volkswagen logo in the middle. However, in this particular test mule, that has been hidden.

Other notable highlights of the rear end of the upcoming Taigun facelift include the fact that the rear bumper has been changed completely. It now gets a slightly shorter chrome strip and a much larger silver skid plate. Apart from these, it continues to get a very small integrated roof spoiler with a high-mounted stop lamp in the middle.
As for the changes in the profile, we cannot note anything unique, and it mostly looks the same as the current model. Like most other facelifts, the Taigun facelift also gets a set of new 17-inch alloy wheels. Apart from these, the window line, shoulder line, and the overall silhouette remain the same.

Moving to the front, we can observe that it will be changed completely. Unlike the current model, which looks very bold and muscular, the new Taigun gets a very sleek front fascia. Observant viewers will be able to note that it looks very similar to the newly launched Volkswagen flagship SUV, the Taigun R-Line.
The new front fascia of the Taigun facelift comprises fully redesigned LED headlights, which look very sleek and get a connecting light bar in the middle. Additionally, the Volkswagen logo on the front will also be illuminated. Apart from these changes, the front bumper has also been changed completely to make sure that it looks more sporty and aggressive.

Apart from the changes seen above, it has been reported that the Volkswagen Taigun facelift in India will be launched with a bunch of new premium features. The list will most likely include a new upholstery design and new color scheme, a bigger touchscreen infotainment system, a larger 10.25-inch digital instrument gauge cluster, rear massaging seats like its cousin Kushaq, and a bunch of other features.
In terms of the powertrain, Volkswagen will continue to offer the Taigun with the same 1.5-litre and 1.0-litre TSI engines, which make 148 bhp and 250 Nm of torque, and 114 bhp and 178 Nm of torque. However, this time around, the 1.0-litre engine will get the new AISIN 8-speed torque converter automatic along with a 6-speed manual, and the 1.5-litre engine will only be offered with the 7-speed DSG gearbox.
