Remember the Audi R8? Remember how we used to drool over this iconic V8 supercar? There was even a beefier V10 version on sale here. Fast forward to 2025, and the R8 is no longer in production. If you still want to buy one, the pre-owned luxury car market still has some great deals. Used R8s usually sell for around the price of a Fortuner. Here’s a 2013 R8 with an asking price of just 38 lakh rupees! That’s cheaper than the on-road price of a brand-new Innova Hycross in Bengaluru!
A video of this car was shared on Instagram by Sagir Shaikh, a content creator based in the used-car niche. It shows the supercar up close and gives key details like the model year, odometer reading, and the asking price. It is from Mumbai and reportedly has 'MH plates'.
The car here seems to have been modified heavily. It has an aftermarket bumper, a customised bonnet, and an aftermarket spoiler at the rear. It even has a custom Neon green paint. The seats have an earthy Red coloured upholstery.

This is definitely not the best-looking R8 one can buy. There are two reasons why you should still consider it. First and most importantly, the price- 38 lakh is quite an accessible price point for many.
For perspective, a brand-new Toyota Innova Hycross ZX(O) (range-topping variant) now has an on-road price of over 40 lakh rupees in Bangalore! If the unit shown here is in good mechanical health, this price can make a lot of sense. The video doesn’t mention anything about this, nor does it say anything about its accident history.

Also, it doesn’t mention if the original owner has stock parts available. If they are being offered, it’s a great deal. Take the car home, switch back to stock parts, get a repaint done and enjoy! The second reason is the mighty 4.2-liter V8 petrol engine, which used to make 420 hp and 429 Nm on the stock car. It comes mated to a 6-speed R-Tronic automatic transmission.
Getting this powertrain combination for under 40 lakh rupees, sounds good. The actual health or state of this engine and transmission, however, remain unclear. We don’t know if it has been modified as well.
Furthermore, this car also has a low odometer reading. 20,000 km, if true, is great. You should, however, verify the vehicle health, documents and history of the car before arriving at a decision. Get in touch with the seller using the number displayed on the video, if you are still interested.

The R8 first went on sale in India in 2008. Back in the day, it was available as a coupe and convertible (Spyder). The market loved its V8 engine, aggressive styling and impressive performance. In 2013, Audi gave it a generational update that brought fresh styling, an improved cabin and a more powerful 5.2L V10 petrol engine (sourced from Lamborghini) that was capable of making 518bhp and 529 Nm. It was much faster than the model it replaced, and came with a new 7-speed automatic transmission.

The R8 supercar was officially discontinued in 2024. The final R8 that rolled out of the production facility in Germany was finished in Vegas Yellow, and had Bronze wheels. It was a coupe and was equipped with a carbon fibre styling package. Back then, it was announced that this unit would go to a museum. We don’t know if someone managed to procure it later.
Audi, in fact, first announced its plans to phase out this V10 supercar in October 2022. Surprisingly, this led to a massive spike in the orders for the last few R8s, eventually forcing the manufacturer to extend production.
The R8 has had an illustrious time as the carmaker’s performance flagship. Back in the day, it even scored three successive wins at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and starred in multiple Hollywood movies as well.
